    Hi there!

I am having problems translating certain parts of the theme, and in the documentation I read (10.1) to make changes to a language file. However, when I installed the theme I could choose to have it translated, and most of it is – including woocommerce. If I create/upload a new language file, will it override the translations already in place?

I also find it difficult to tell which parts come from the woocommerce plug-in, and which parts come from the theme itself. A plug-in called Loco-translate claims that 100% of woocommerce and 100% of the theme is translated to Norwegian (but it’s not).

The parts I’m trying to figure out how to translate are:
    “view cart” and “check-out”, +

    Hello,

“Categories” in sidebar can be translated this way: go to Appearance > Widgets and add “Woocommerce Product Categories” widget to “Shop Sidebar area” and write your title.
“My Account”, “Return To Shop”, “Have a coupon”, “Return to Previous Page”, “Search” can be translated in .po file in wp-content/themes/classico/languages directory.
“Type here…” is located in the file wp-content/themes/classico/woosearchform.php.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Thank you Eva!

I have downloaded Poedit, opened the default.po there and completed the translations, then saved the file and FTPed it back into the languages directory. However the changes do not seem to take effect on the live site, so I must be doing something wrong. Could you point me in the right direction please ?:)

    Kind regards
    Mona-Lisa

    Hello,

Did you rename default.po file to your language prefix as described in the documentation: https://www.8theme.com/classico-theme-documentation/ (10.1. Base theme translation)

save file with your language name e.g de_DE.po. It will generate both a .po and .mo files for your translation. Place these files into languages folder /wp-content/themes/classico/languages.

    Also read this article: http://betterwp.net/wordpress-tips/create-pot-file-using-poedit./

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

Hi there Jack, thank you for your reply!

I’d renamed them no_NO but I found a link suggesting it should be NB_NO and now it works 🙂 Thank you!

    Hello,

You can translate “Add to wishlist” text in WP Dashboard > YIT Plugins > Wishlist > Settings > “Add to Wishlist” text.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
