I used POedit to create Royal_fi.mo and Royal_fi.po files (not totally translated yet). However it seems I cant figure out in what folder exactly I should put the files, since they don’t seem to work on my site.
They’re now in /wp-content/themes/Royal_Theme-v2.8/languages fodler, where there only used to be Royal.pot. What might be the problem?
Hello,
Please rename Royal_Theme-v2.8 folder to “royal”.
Also specify what words can’t be translated and provide FTP credentials.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
You sure there will be no problem if I just rename the theme folder with FTP and do nothing else? I have a child theme that I edit. Should I rename parent and child theme folders?
It seems no words/phrases that I’ve translated in POedit are translated, so I suspect the theme isn’t reading my .mo/,po files at all.
Hello,
Please provide FTP credentials to check the issue.
Thank you.

Here you go.
Hello,
I’ve renamed your translation files from Royal-fi.po/.mo to fi.po/mo.
Please check the translation now.

Eva Kemp.
I thought I had tried that as well… But now it’s working, thanks a lot.
I noticed that the file wp-config.php in the root has been modified very recently. Is this something I need to worry about once there’s an update to the theme (since I’m using a child theme now)?
Hello,
That was me who edited the file. You shouldn’t worry about it.
Is your problem solved and we may close the topic?

Yes, it is solved. Thank you very much!
