Translation problems in Legenda theme - by gbel25

    Hi.
    I have 2 sites with Legenda theme. One of them is an old site and i had already the same problem with translation to russian on old site. After few talks with your support i thought that the problem is with the plugins i used on this site.
    But i bought another Legenda license for another site. After i installed the theme and made a translation first time from EN to RU with Po edit, everything was fine. After first update, all the text turned EN back and i tried to do the same thing – to translate to RU with Po edit like i did on first time. The problem came back. The theme does not see my RU po files and don’t want to be translated.
    Please, let’s fix this problem once and for ever. I need your help please.

    Hello,

    As I see you are using new woocommerce version.
    Compatibility of our theme with the plugin will be added in a new theme update.

    Hi.
    I think you did not read my question good or did not understand what i talking about.
    Please read my topic again and answer me.
    I wrote that i have the same problem on both sites, one of them, the old site (www.talisman4u.com) work with previous version of woocommerce and the new site had this problem before i made update of woocommerce.
    Problem with translation continue to appear with all your updates and as i said already, i wrote to you company 2 years before when i had this problem already. I thought that it was my fault, some of plugins i added by myself made this problem. But as i understand now it’s a problem with your theme. Please take a look again and give me the answer what should i do or resolve this problem.
    And why it took so long time to get answer from you?

    Please provide wp-admin and FTP access to your site with the previous version of woocommerce.
    We need to check this issue.

    Do you need only ftp access or the regular wp-admin it’s ok?

    Hello,

    Please describe your issue one more time.
    To check any problem with translation we need your accesses to wp-admin and FTP.
    The latest theme version (3.2) is compatible with woocommerce 3.0.8 v http://prntscr.com/fr2rfx https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/advanced/http://prntscr.com/fplpj2

    Ok.
    The problem with translation is on both sites with legenda theme. When i try to transalte PO file and upload it on site, the translation doesn’t work. I’ translating to russian. At the beganing when i worked with your them on old site, i was sure that it’s my fault, that i just added to many plugins. But on this site there is no plugin except woocommerce. I didnt upgrate anything because you wanted to check it with old version of site, as i understood. Just tell me what should i update so you can fix the problem properly.
    all access are in hidden content.

    Hi,

    Can you clarify this so if that didn’t work, we will try some other workaround, Did you follow these steps? https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/royal/#!/1_how_to_translate Also, https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-translation/base-theme-translation/ If you translate in the Parent theme, then take the backup of the translated .po file, so that you can replace that after a theme update or do that in Child theme. Use POEdit or Loco Translate, and keep update us.

    Let’s do it step by step.
    1. Do i need to update wordpress?
    2. Do i need to update the theme?
    3. Do i need to update the woocommerce?
    I didn’t do no one of these yet.

    Please update WordPress, the theme, woocommerce ( https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/advanced/http://prntscr.com/fplpj2 The new theme version will be compatible with the latest woocommerce version. Our developers are working on the update.) and update all required plugins https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/.
    Then install Loco Translate plugin and let me know.

    Theme version 3.2 is available on ThemeForest (log in with your Envato account credentials and free download the latest version in Downloads section).
    Before uploading theme files delete “woocommerce” folder, which is located in wp-content/themes/woopress/ to avoid problems with old files.
    Don’t forget to create backup of your files and database before starting update process!
    You need to enter your purchase code to activate our new theme version and skip Setup Wizard.

    Hi.
    I did everything. There is a few words that i translated in the po file of the Legenda theme. But some of the words are just not there. All the words such a “cart, view cart, checkout” are not in po file. There are in woocommerce po file, but not in Legend po file.
    So maybe this is the problem?

    Hello,

    Very likely you just need to synchronize translation files after update to get new strings.
    Try to update your translation .po file as described here http://betterwp.net/wordpress-tips/create-pot-file-using-poedit./ (the section “Updating a .po (and .mo) file”).
    or
    Button Sync (Loco Translate plugin) allows you to synchronize your translation file with updated pot file. It means if we made any changes in template files that may affect transaltion or we added new string for the translation and you updated theme you need to synchronize your translation with updated files. Only after synchronization, you’ll be able to translate new strings or strings that were changed. You may lose only strings that were changed.
    Also, don’t forget to backup all the files before any update.
