Hi,
With the move from WP Bakery to Elementor, we are still using the Xstore customizer for time’s sake.
Unfortunately, when selecting a custom (prebuilt) SPP template, the page (in the customizer) won’t load. Instead, a blog page is shown, with no builder panel other than a search box on the left side.

Also (this may be unrelated), the mobile version is also completely fumbled.
It should look like this (screenshot from customizer): https://imgur.com/bMayxF1
While in fact, on mobile (android) it looks like this: https://imgur.com/TZFgMuL (the images are placed in a column, no spaces in between pictures)
Hello, Bas Kling,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
As you are transitioning to Elementor, we recommend using the XStore Single Product Builder, which is specifically designed for Elementor-based websites. This tool also supports the creation of multiple templates, enhancing your site’s functionality and design flexibility.
Should you prefer to continue using the older version of the builder, please provide us with access to your administrative panel. This will enable us to address and rectify the error you are experiencing.
Best regards,
The 8Theme Team
Hi Andrew,
we never switched to anything else, but using the Xstore Single Product Builder. We think there might be an issue with some of the theme’s files (corruption) that’s causing the issue.
I’ve already provided access to the site’s panel, in the first post of this thread (private section).
The response is a bit disappointing, as we’ve addressed the issue and provided access days ago. The persisting issue is preventing us from pushing the website from staging to live…
Hello, Bas Kling,
We regret to inform you that the issue you are experiencing is currently unresolved due to its origin within the core functionality of WordPress itself. We anticipate a resolution as soon as the necessary fixes are implemented by the WordPress team.
For ongoing updates regarding this matter, you may monitor the progress through the following tickets:
– https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/61803
– https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/61561)
As a temporary measure, we suggest downgrading your WordPress installation to a version below 6.6. This may mitigate the issue until a permanent fix is deployed.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Best Regards,
The 8Theme Team
Hi Andrew, Rose,
Our developers have rolled back WordPress to v6.5.5.
Unfortunately, the issue with the SPP product image slider persists.
It is extremely frustrating, as our SEO specialists have been put on hold for weeks now, waiting for us to resolve the issue. In the meantime, we still have to pay them.
What’s even more frustrating is that many websites we see utilize the latest (or at least very recent) version of wordpress with a latest (not even the last) version of xstore, with no problem. Is this an Elementor issue?
No new plugins have been added in the past several months, so no issues on that front.
P.S.
How can we try a roll-back of xcore?

Dear @Bas Kling,
We hope this message finds you well.
We apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry. Due to a high volume of requests, our response time has been longer than usual.
To assist you effectively, could you kindly provide the specific versions of the XStore theme and XStore Core plugin you were using previously without encountering any issues? With this information, we will be able to search our archives for the versions you mentioned. Should we locate the relevant files, we will promptly send them to you for re-testing the issue you currently have.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Hi Jack,
your guess is as good as mine. Because we switched from WP Bakery to Elementor in the process, I’m not sure when this particular problem first occurred as a compatibility issue between Xstore and WordPress.
I was hoping that this was a documented issue affecting multiple users, subsequently providing historical insights as to the origins of the problem.
I would rely on your input to assign best practice version of the xcore towards being compatible with WordPress version 6.5.5
Any news btw on progress with the latest version of WP?
Cheers,
Bas
Hello, Bas Kling,
We regret to inform you that the issue you are experiencing is not related to the XStore theme. Like you, we are awaiting a resolution from WordPress.
In the meantime, we recommend trying our new Single Product Builder, which is based on Elementor and includes multiple templates. For more information and to access this feature, please review the attached files.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Hi Andrew,
I’m sorry, but this gives me nothing.
Are you telling me that, the entirety of the xstore support team is not able to tell their paying customers what specific version of wordpress is 100% compatible with what specific version of xstore, in the history of your template builds?
I just need a viable roll-back as a guide, and we’ll take care of the rest
It’s been six days.
Please share any update.
Hello, Bas Kling,
I hope this message finds you well.
We are pleased to inform you that WordPress has released an update that addresses the issue you were experiencing. We have successfully updated your WordPress installation as well as the theme to ensure compatibility and performance enhancements.
However, during the process, we encountered another issue related to incorrect values in the custom CSS. To accurately diagnose and resolve this problem, we kindly request your permission to temporarily remove these custom CSS values.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter. Please let us know at your earliest convenience if we may proceed with this temporary adjustment.
Best regards,
8Theme’s Team
Hello Andrew,
Since we’ve got many things going on, I need to schedule a maintenance window to manage the suggested actions.
Does 3 PM CEST fit your schedule?
Can you forward a list of the custom CSS values you’re talking about?
Also, please be aware that we have 2 websites running (URLs in private) so we probably need to implement the changes twice. Please advise on time needed.
Cheers,
Please understand that the B2B website is our production site. Not knowing what the impact will be of the removed CSS values, we need to keep track of those changes.
Please advise on when you’re about the remove the values, and what specific custom CSS values we’re talking about.
The B2B website has yet to be launched, so timing is less of an issue.

Hello, Bas Kling,
We hope this message finds you well. We have identified the cause of the issue you reported, which pertains to the incorrect interpretation of comments within the custom CSS sections of your theme. Please note that this issue is not exclusive to our theme alone.
The problem specifically occurs in the following sections:
– Customizer -> Additional CSS
– Customizer -> Theme Custom CSS -> Global CSS
– Customizer -> Theme Custom CSS -> Laptop (992px+)
– Customizer -> Theme Custom CSS -> Tablet (768px – 991px)
– Customizer -> Theme Custom CSS -> Mobile landscape (481px – 767px)
– Customizer -> Theme Custom CSS -> Mobile (0 – 480px)
To address this, we have removed all comments from these sections without altering the code itself. Following this adjustment, the functionality has been restored as expected.
Additionally, we are providing files containing the custom code, complete with comments, from the aforementioned sections. You can find these files in the private content area.
Initially, we suspected that the format of the comments might be causing the issue. However, our investigation revealed that any comment placed in these sections leads to an error in the WordPress interpreter. This could be due to several potential coding-related issues, including:
1. Caching server problems.
2. PHP settings:
– short_open_tag: If enabled, PHP may misinterpret comments or certain characters within them as PHP code, leading to errors.
– max_input_vars: Large CSS files, including comments, may exceed PHP data size limits (e.g., max_input_vars or post_max_size), causing issues.
– output_buffering: Comments or specific characters might cause output buffering issues. If output_buffering is disabled or misconfigured, it could improperly process large chunks of CSS or HTML.
– mod_security: Some servers have additional security modules like mod_security, which might block certain comments or characters in CSS code, considering them potentially harmful.
– allow_url_include: If enabled, this could cause conflicts when interpreting comments, although it typically relates to file inclusion but might still affect CSS in certain scenarios.
We recommend reviewing these settings or consulting with your server administrator to ensure optimal configuration for your environment.
Should you require further assistance or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
