Update the theme with child theme - by - on WordPress WooCommerce support

    Hello,

    I’ve already the Legenda Theme installed and everything was working fine in my website.
    Now I need to update and this is the problem:

    I don’t have a Child Theme, and I have a lot of customization.
    What can I do to update the theme without loosing any info?

    Please help me, I really need to update this theme as soon as possible since I have updated the WooCommerce version and now I have a bunch of problems of incompatibility!

    Hello,
    you can copy all customized files to child theme and update parent theme. Please do not forget to make backup of theme folder!

    Okay Stan,

    But how it works the update?
    I just need to copy+paste the new files into the old files folder overriding and its done?

    Hello

    You should delete woocommerce folder within theme folder and overwrite theme with new version. Be sure before you start update that customized php files and styles transfered to the Child theme and backup is done.

    I did what you’ve told me but thats the error I got:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function vc_column_offset_class_merge() in /home/voaborboleta/www/wp-content/themes/voaborboleta/framework/vc.php on line 1172

    Please, I can’t leave my website offline longer!

    Hello

    It seems that password to ftp is not corrrect .Please check it. We have also get error 403 while logging into the wp-admin panel.

    Also, after update the theme, the Visual Composer didnt allow the update..

    I’ve checked if all files were copied and yes, its one by one there.

    I didnt! Because I didnt receive the new version.. I tought it would update together…
    I have to buy the plugin also?

    I am checking now and the error is only happening while trying to load the Static Blocks, footer, revolution slider, (everything from my home screen) and contact page.. The ‘store’ is ok…

    What can be?

    I’ve found the Visual Composer as js_composer now.
    So, I’ve deleted the old one and installed the new one.
    Its asking for my envato user name (this I know) and my secret key API (this I also know) but is asking for the license key from CodeCanion (this one I dont have).

    Anyway. After updating the Visual Composer, looks like its starting to work..

    Hello,

    Please give us permissions to access wp-admin panel and FTP as we’re getting these errors:
    wp-admin: “Erro 403 Acesso negado”
    FTP: “Response: 550 PWD: Permission denied
    Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing”

    I am not sure what is it happening.
    Since you have the correct user and pass.

    I think may be something related to your location…
    This happened a few time ago when I’ve give the credentials to an Indian person..

    What now?

    you can download latest versions of required plugins here: https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/
    After that please delete old plugins and install new in Dashboard > Plugins
    Please update and let us know results.

    All plugins are external extensions which are included into theme because for each product we purchase “Extended license” and that’s why we are able to include it into them.
    This plugins work fine without activation and you can always get actual version if you want directly from us.
    Just ask and we’ll send you current version. We update plugins with theme updates time to time so with each next theme update, plugins will be also updated.
    The option with registering of these plugins has been already added to plugin and this only allow you to get automatic updates and support for this plugin directly from author if you need.
    You don’t need to register this product because it is not required but if you want to get those features, then you need to purchase this plugin directly from author. This is how it works for all themes on Themeforest and not only in our case.

    There is one strange things..
    In the top bar, there is the ‘Your Account’ when someone is logged in.
    But what is happening is that what shows there is my menus from the store.
    This is not related to the account..
    So.. what should I do.

    There should appear account information. Nothing else.
    Like the name of the user, address, things like this !

    To hide the menu under My Account link add this code in custom.css file:
    .links li.my-account-link .submenu-dropdown {display: none !important;}
    How to create custom.css you can watch in this tutorial.

    This is a big error.
    Why that option was created?

    Its not make any sense!

    ‘My account’ -> drags you to the menu from store.

    That feature was created to show menu items under My account link. If you don’t want it then you hide it with the code provided in the previous post.

    Come on, this is an error, you know that.
    Because if it was made to show menu or store options, the name of the link would never be ‘My Account’, since this is miles away from ‘account’ related.

    But ok! Lets forget it.

    Tell me how can I hide, since I have included this code in my custom.css and nothing happened (p.s.: I dont have anything in my custom.css, so there is only this line of code there, anything else I should add to work?)

    Hello,

    You have written the code in default.custom.css, but you must rename it to custom.css. You can do this via FTP. Also make sure custom.css is enabled in Theme Options > Custom CSS.

    It says that the theme is translated to Portuguese.
    Right?

    But for me its not showing the translation of everything.
