We have inherited an installation from another developer and I currently don’t have FTP access, only to the WordPress dashboard
The site is running Blanco 2.2 and there is also a 2.8 installation on the server which is currently not being used. I need to upgrade to latest version (3.5) so I can upgrade Woocommerce plugins and would normally upgrade the theme to do this using FTP and an overwrite.
I am backed up but am I safe installing as if this was a new theme and then activating it? And am I likely to experience any other issues during upgrading.
Best wishes and thanks in anticipation
Hello,
You can update the theme.
Follow the tutorial at this link
(it’s for Legenda theme but the process is the same).
If you don’t make changes in the original theme files then everything should be fine.

Eva Kemp.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
I am now updated and created a Child Theme which is running OK but currently without any tweaks.
The only problem I have is that in both Blanco child theme and Blanco parent theme the logo now ranges left whereas it used to be centred
What do I need to do to push it back in the centre?
Hello,
There is search form in the center. Do you want to remove it and place logo there?
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Hi Eva,
Personally I prefer everything where it is and have persuaded the site owner to agree with me, so this is now fixed.
Best wishes
