So I have this bizarre case. I created my products via import.
When I edit them (Name, description) – all variations disappear. I still have attributes but nothing more.
It is important for me to add custom descriptions.
Quick edit – where I change the title does not trigger this issue.
PS – I tried creating variable products manually. It didn’t work. After I created attributes and saved them the box reloaded and the checkbox For variants went blank and inactive. So I cant create variants at all.
Any ideas?
Hello, @Namaste,
Thank you for contacting us and for using XStore.
In order to resolve your issue, please edit the variable product’s Attributes and select the option for Used for variations, then save the settings. After that, generate the variations as needed and update them.

Daar Tony,
Thank for your reply, as always it is full of informative content. Unfortunately, I do not think I expressed myself clearly:
I DO know how to create products with variants, but there is an issue:
1 – makes it impossible to create variable products, the checkbox you showed is inactive https://snipboard.io/SW045H.jpg
2 – products that have variants after any edit to the description lose all the variants. WITHOUT ME EDITING VARIANTS. Please see screenshots in my original entry
FYI – as a workaround I reverted to Woocommerce 7.8.2 and the issue was solved
Hello, Namaste,
Could you please record a video of the problem?
We can’t recreate the problem on our test site, right now.
Please provide URL of product with the problem, temporary wp-admin and FTP access.
Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best Regards,
8Theme Team.
Hi Rose,
As I installed an older version of Woocommerce the issue is not currently present.
The issue was affecting any variable product I wanted to edit. As I have a batch of products that I want to update (their descriptions) I will keep the older version as long as I work on it. I couldn’t find any error logs related to this.
Hello, Namaste,
Thank you for your response.
Currently, we do not see the problem on our site or on sites of other our customers. Once we will be able to see the problem and get access to the site with it, our dev team will fix it. Meanwhile, you may use the old WooCommerce version, or create a staging site > recreate the problem there and provide us with access.
Best Regards,
8Theme Team.
