Very slow site and low performance score

I ran PageSpeed Insights on my site after experiencing slow load time and it came back with a very low performance score. I contacted WPEngine and they couldn’t find anything on their end causing it. They said to reach out to the developer. I tried disabling all but necessary plugins and that didn’t increase the performance by much.
