Hi there,
I am almost ready with my website but after a few theme updates my site is still very slow..
Now I wonder if it’s a configuration problem or still the theme that is very slow?? This is the only issue for to not go live yet..
Can you please look to my website to see how slow it is and wat can I do do make it faster? (see private content)
I have tried WP Super Cache but that was giving a lot of troubles with customizing the website..
Thanks
Hello,
Try to disable third-party plugins, very likely one of them caused issue.
Also try to check you speed site with default WordPress theme.
Regards,
Robert Hall.
Hi there,
I dont have much plugins, but did what you have told. Switching to another template didn’t do much but I didn’t deactivated all the plugin when I switched..
Here is a list of my plugins:
Contact Form 7
MailChimp for WordPress Lite selecteren
MailChimp Sign Up selecteren
MPM – Mollie Payment Module selecteren
oik Weight/Country Shipping selecteren
Revolution Slider selecteren
Screets Live Chat selecteren
Shipping Details for WooCommerce selecteren
WooCommerce selecteren
WooCommerce (nl) selecteren
WooCommerce PDF Invoice selecteren
WordPress SEO selecteren
WPBakery Visual Composer selecteren
YITH WooCommerce Wishlist selecteren
I deactivated all the plugins one by one. I am not sure yet but it looks like the website is a lttle bit faster when I deactivate WordPress SEO by Yaost
Are there more people here with Wordress SEO and experience slowness of the website?? I found some topic on google with people who are saying that WordPress SEO is slowing down the website..
What SEO are you from 8theme using?
I thought it was SEO but the site is still very slow.. Could it be the provider I am running on? With my other websites by the same provider I dont have problems..
Okay, WordPress SEO does slow down the website a little bit more..
Hello,
To optimize your site you have to contact SEO plugin author. If the problem persists with other theme then the slowness is caused by plugins, not the theme.
Thank you for understanding.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Hi Eva,
It is really WordPress SEO by Yaost that is slowing down the website.
I also contact my webshost to migrate my website to another server. Hope it wil get any better 🙂
Question for other people with a slow website,
Are you running with WordPress SEO and is the website faster without this plugin??
I am just curious.
Thanks!
Hello, Try to use
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
I already check what exactly slower my speed and it seems not only 3 party plugins slow down the speed but also entire theme have problem.
There is any way to fix that?
One more tip:
Delete all the revision posts in from the database. I had almost 200 revisions of the homepage. I deleted all and the website is again a lot more faster.
I came from a page loadtime of 17s and now it is 3s.
Tested with: http://tools.pingdom.com
I am looking for another SEO plugin. WordPress SEO was really killing my loadtime!
What about seo by yoast?
Wordpress Seo by Yoast was the plugin that slows down my website.
You can find a lot of topics on internet by users of this plugin that it is slowing down the website
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/yoast-seo-slow-my-website
I think Im going to try All in One Seo. Don’t have problems with my other websites. First I am going to look if my website stays faster since deleling SEO by Yoast..
I have now Legenda running on the same server as my current website.
The Legenda website has a load time of 7/8 s and my other wordpress webshop with a lot of plugins a load time of 1.6s
So the Legenda is still very slow..
One more finding:
I had installed the demo data. So I had all the demo pages on published. Also deleted al the pages I dont need..
If people optimized there speed of the website, I really hope they will share there findings..
Thanks!
I do believe the theme is the mail cause of slowing down my site. This is really frustrating, if someone can give me some advice on this I would appreciate it. I might need to look at getting another theme. this is way to slow!
Please let me know when you find better SEO plugin
I’m also doing my research
Thank you
@jossan84
I reduced my loadtime from 18s to +/- 5s with the actions I did above. Can you look at this and do the same and share your experience?
I believe the webhost the site is running on is also an issue. Why is the load time of the demo from legenda much better than mine?
Load time of: https://www.8theme.com/demo/legenda2/ is about 2.7s (same website we have)\
Thanks
Anyone here that is using WordPress SEO by Yoast within this theme?? I thought this plugin was the killer of my loadtime.
Because of this I had installed All In One SEO (free plugin) but I am not happy about this plugin because I cannot set the SEO Title for product categories.
Now I moved my website to another cluster on the server of my host. Installed WordPress SEO by Yoast again and the website looks like he is also still fast.
So I dont know what the problem caused of slow load time. Was it my server or the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin.
So I really wonder if there are people here who are using WordPress SEO by Yoast with this theme and don’t have problems with a slow website
Thanks
Also trying to speed up my site….where do I delete the revision posts?? in what folder?
Thanks!
