Hi,
I have had some issues with visual composer over the last few days. My homepage banner and blog posts arn’t appearing on screen. In the backend when i edit a visual composer element, I am unable to save the changes (when i click the save button nothing happens at all). I have been troubleshooting and found the following:

If i change my wordpress theme to a standard theme visual composer works as it should. I have contacted the people at visual composer and they have suggested the following:
“The issue is most likely because there is an inbuilt version of Visual Composer (or the related code) present in your theme which is overriding the standalone plugin version and hence causing the issue. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.”

Can you help in anyway??

Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for looking into this for me. I have cleared cache etc.
That has fixed some homepage layout issues, but the banner and blog posts still aren’t appearing. They have been created using visual composer.

Hi again,
Have found a few more weird things happening with the site:
1. Homepage (revolution slider won’t appear and blog posts wont appear)
2. Product page (when you click custom tab, the text doesn’t appear, also the same with the custom tab i created in the theme options /single product page – nothing happens when you click the tab title)
3. When you hover over the cart icon, usually a popup appears showing you what is in your cart. This window is empty, even though there are items in the cart.

Hopefully this can be resolved asap.

Thanks
Claire

Hello,

1. There is error for Revolution Slider http://storage8.static.itmages.com/i/16/0121/h_1453371624_5990056_5b11228d5c.png .
You need refer to plugin authors. Please read their comment here:
http://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin/2751380/comments?page=451

You load two times the jQuery.js file which is absolutely a wrong practice. Please make sure that you disable the plugins which does this (usually some older plugins used to do so) or contact your theme Author and ask for help here.

Once the Double loaded jQuery plugin has been fixed, it will work fine !

(As workaround you can try to put the Revslider Library in the footer and set the defer js to “on” in the Global Settings of the Slider, however this will not solve the issue with the double loaded jQuery, and maybe other plugins will break still !!!)

2./3. Some plugin is causing the issue. Disable them one by one to find it out.

Best regards,
Jack Richardson.

Thank you for your help.
From my research the jquery scripts shouldn’t be included in the header.php file. Instead they should be included in the functions file. Do you know what line of code i need to remove from header.php? As the theme author i would have assumed you would build the site to accommodate multiple plugins?

Hello,

By default our theme is compatible with the implemented plugins and demo site doesn’t have such issue with revolution slider. So please disable all 3rd-party plugins and follow the recommendation from Rev. slider authors.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Jack Richardson.

thanks again for your help. In the slider global settings i have chosen for the javascript to load in footer. The slider is now appearing, but not at the very top of the screen, like it did in the demo content. I have checked slide settings and it should be sitting at 0px, 0px. Have also choosen the correct header type (choice 2 where the slider sits at very top of page). Is there something i am missing?

Sorry just one more thing…. i am still getting weird issues e.g
– I can’t save changes to any of the visual composer elements in my footer static block
– the popup window when you hover over the cart favicon is empty
– the custom tabs on product pages don’t work (nothing happens when you click the links)
– Some of the product thumbnails showing on the homepage under Summer Skin Essentials’ aren’t lining up properly

I have tried deactivating plugins one by one and still can’t find the issue. I have also changed plugins so i am only using the default theme plugins but there are still issues. What would be your recommendation? I feel like maybe i should start again, and re-install theme with demo content and then add all of my content back in. If i do this, would installing the demo content erase all of my products?

Also – do you offer a service where i can pay someone to help fix my site using this theme?

thanks

Hello,

You used header type 1. I’ve switched to the second. Clear browser cache and check home page now.
Concerning your other queries: have you disabled 3rd-party plugins?
Please deactivate all 3rd-party plugins and check your site after that.

Best regards,
Jack Richardson.

Yes I have disabled all 3rd party plugins, but the issues are still there.
What other options do i have to fix my site?

Issues include:
– I can’t save changes to any of the visual composer elements in my footer static block
– the popup window when you hover over the cart favicon is empty
– the custom tabs on product pages don’t work (nothing happens when you click the links)
– Some of the product thumbnails showing on the homepage under Summer Skin Essentials’ aren’t lining up properly
– The menu on mobile site doesn’t work (nothing happens when you click the 3 horizontal lines)

I really need to fix these things – I am happy to pay, is there someone that can help?

Hello,

All described problems were caused by your code which you added to Sign Up text blocks in footer and home page. Here is the conflicting part of your code:

I’ve deleted Sign Up text block in Static Blocks > footer to check the issue with tabs in single product page. As you can see here http://www.skinmade.com.au/product/hair-serum-coconut-cedarwood/ cart popup and tabs are working fine.

As for the home page remove problematic text block (Sign Up block) http://prntscr.com/9vmybc and recreate it without the mentioned js code.

Regards,
Eva Kemp.

There are still some issues with visual composer, i can’t save any changes to visual composer and the blog posts arn’t showing on the home page. The mobile site menu also is not working.
Please advise?
