Website and wordpress very slow (5-10seconds)

Hi,

After installing the theme (Xstore, Marseille), the website became very slow. It takes >5 seconds to load the pages, and >10second to even log in to wordpress (especially on mobile). I already compressed my images to small sizes, and did some textcompression.
What can be the root cause of this? Where can I improve? Or is this a hosting thing?

Hello,

I have installed SiteGround Optimizer plugin instead of WP Super Cache. Tested with Gtmetrix and score is good.

Hi,

Thank you for your improvement.
After your change the slider was not working on the home page anymore, which gave in inaccurate result. I deactivated and reactivated the SGoptimizer plugin, and now the slider works again.

However, the score at Gtmetrix is now an E.

What happened here?
