Hello, our website is failing after updating the theme to the last version 9.3.12. Critical WordPress error is shown on screen and error.log shows:

    [Wed Jun 12 16:15:07.173840 2024] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 747460:tid 139655701825280] [client 213.177.215.193:0] AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Undefined class constant ‘DATETIME_CATEGORY’ in /home/asarga/www/wp-content/plugins/et-core-plugin/app/controllers/elementor/dynamic-tags/product-countdown.php:22\nStack trace:\n#0 /home/asarga/www/wp-content/plugins/elementor/core/dynamic-tags/base-tag.php(98): ETC\\App\\Controllers\\Elementor\\Dynamic_Tags\\Product_Countdown->get_categories()\n#1 /home/asarga/www/wp-content/plugins/elementor/core/dynamic-tags/manager.php(389): Elementor\\Core\\DynamicTags\\Base_Tag->get_editor_config()\n#2 /home/asarga/www/wp-content/plugins/elementor/core/dynamic-tags/manager.php(401): Elementor\\Core\\DynamicTags\\Manager->get_tags_config()\n#3 /home/asarga/www/wp-content/plugins/elementor/core/editor/editor.php(582): Elementor\\Core\\DynamicTags\\Manager->get_config()\n#4 /home/asarga/www/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(324): Elementor\\Core\\Editor\\Editor->enqueue_scripts(”)\n#5 /home/asarga/www/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(348): WP_Hook->apply_filters(”, Array)\n#6 /home/asarga/www/wp-includ…’, referer: https://www.asarga.es/wp-admin/post.php?post=7598&action=edit&classic-editor

We’ve also found that the Elementor + Elementor PRO plugins are installed but not updated to the latest versions. Updates are not shown on the plugins page, really weird.

    Installed versions:
    Elementor 3.9.0-dev4
    Elementor PRO 3.8.1

    Latest versions:
    Elementor 3.21.8
    Elementor PRO 3.21.3

Any ideas on what is happening here? Thank you.

    Hello, Lucía,

Could you please provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access?

To grant WP-Admin access, please proceed to create a new user account with an administrator role through your WordPress Dashboard. Once the account is established, you may securely transmit the username and password to us via the Private Content section designated for this purpose.

For FTP access, we require the following details: FTP host, FTP username, FTP password, FTP port, and FTP encryption type. If you need assistance in creating these credentials, please reach out to your hosting provider who will guide you through the process.

    Best Regards,

    Dear @Lucía,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you that we have successfully updated the XStore theme to version 9.3.13.

Additionally, we noticed that the update function for the XStore Core plugin was locked as indicated in the list of plugins on your website (https://prnt.sc/QiFRbkrG9eFo). Consequently, we temporarily disabled this restriction to proceed with the necessary updates. The XStore Core has been updated, and the function to lock updates has been reinstated. However, we would like to advise that it is generally not recommended to disable updates for essential plugins that are bundled with the theme.

Following the updates to both the XStore theme and the XStore Core plugin, we have not detected any issues on your website [https://prnt.sc/d1paInY4Pqqj]. We kindly ask you to review the updates at your earliest convenience and confirm that everything is functioning as expected.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson

Thank you, can you please let us know what are the “essential plugins” for us to delete the restrictions?

Another company was working on this website and create those restrictions, so this is new for us.

We are still having some issues, please try to edit a post with elementor, and see the private content are for the error details.

    Dear @Lucía,

I hope this message finds you well. We recommend that you reach out to the developers who implemented the specific code snippet in your child-theme/functions.php file. It appears that this customization was tailored for specific needs, and they would be best equipped to provide further assistance.

Additionally, we advise against restricting updates for plugins. Plugins’ updates often include new features, options, and crucial security patches that are essential for maintaining the functionality and security of your site.

Regarding the error you mentioned, we are currently unable to identify it on your frontend. To assist you effectively, could you please provide us with the URL or the steps needed to reproduce the issue? If the error is displayed randomly it is not possible for us to fix it. Once we have this information, we will do our utmost to resolve the problem.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. We look forward to your response and are here to assist you further.

    Best Regards,

    Dear @Lucía,

I hope this message finds you well. Upon reviewing your current website setup, we have noticed that you are using an outdated developer version of the Elementor plugin (version 3.9.0-dev4) [https://prnt.sc/Paxge4IasDI9], which was released approximately two years ago. You can find more details about this release here: [Elementor 3.9 Developers Update](https://developers.elementor.com/elementor-3-9-developers-update/).

It is important to note that the latest stable version available is 3.22.3, which can be accessed here: [Elementor on WordPress.org] (https://wordpress.org/plugins/elementor/). Utilizing a developer version on a live site is generally not recommended unless it is strictly for testing purposes. This practice can lead to potential issues, as developer versions are typically in the testing phase and may not include all functionalities present in the stable releases.

The issue you are experiencing is likely due to the use of this older developer version, which lacks certain updates and features introduced in later versions of the plugin.

To resolve this issue, we recommend the following steps:
    1. Please uninstall the current developer version of the Elementor plugin.
    2. Install the latest stable version (3.22.3) to ensure compatibility and functionality.

Implementing these changes should address the error you have encountered and enhance the overall performance and security of your website.

Should you need any assistance during this process or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson
