The website is extremely slow loading from page to page, and this is on any page, I have to refresh for the page to be shown, and this is still slow on the refresh.

My internet speed has no issues, the speed test image is attached.

Also, pages do not load, it loads the website menus on the left, similar to DOS-style, image attached.

    Please advise?

    Greetings.

We would like to inform you that we have successfully accessed your website without encountering any problems.

We kindly suggest that you verify with your hosting provider regarding the integrated caching system. It is our assumption that the cache may have been refreshed during your recent visit to the website.

How do I download WP Rocket, I am unsure of this.

I thought it was in the WP admin plugin – added a new plug-in but it is not. The link you provided to apply WP Rocket settings, their is no link to download/install.

I cannot find it in the store options in WP admin as well.

    Please advise?

    Hi @Ajaz,

    It’s a paid plugin: https://wp-rocket.me/.

You can also try with the following free cache plugins: https://www.cloudways.com/blog/wordpress-caching-plugins/

    Hi Luca,

Regarding the slowness issue, my provider is investigating further because they have confirmed that there is no issue on their end.

“This is frustrating and worrying because I have business colleagues who use WP and after talking with them, they have different themes and they have never experienced such issues. They also use the same hosting provider and they have the same package because they recommended my hosting provider and package”

I have noticed this issue being raised on a few occasions now including the most recent one:

    https://www.8theme.com/topic/theme-very-very-slow-just-some-click-and-save-in-theme-option/#post-390715

Please can you arrange to apply the same approach and investigation immediately because when I used/tested a couple of themes before purchasing this theme, I never experienced such an issue?

My WP-admin access details are in the private content area, please access my WP-admin to investigate what you need.

    Please contact administrator
    for this information.

    Hi Luca,

My hosting company has investigated and they have confirmed that the issue is due to the theme, let me explain.

I advised them of the issue and your assumption, they advised that there is a video and large images on the site that affects the loading speed and this is not a hosting-related issue.

They also advised that too many plugins would be an issue and:

“Your Managed WordPress account already has caching built into it and this can’t be disabled, therefore, there is no need and is not recommended to install any other additional caching plugins.

When the website loads, it sends out multiple requests for various JavaScript and CSS files. These requests can be render-blocking and can increase your website’s load time.”

    I confirmed the following:

What is surprising is that this is a paid template and service with the theme provider but when I used a free template (Blocksy) before this template, I had the identical video, images, layout, and data excluding the large 2000px images which are 6 images and I never once had this issue. I used the free template for almost 6-7 weeks and worked on this every day for the first 4-5 weeks, and the plugins were actually more then because I have deleted some since and I have also deleted another plugin earlier today.

My hosting provider confirmed the following:

“Since you already tested the website using a different theme and did not encounter these issues, then this would exclude an issue with the hosting package as this is related to the theme your website is currently using.

The issue is most likely caused by the new theme which is trying to consume more memory than is set. The memory_limit is set to 512MB and this limit can’t be increased any further on this type of hosting package.

I searched on the open Internet for more details about the theme you are using and some forums suggest enabling the optimization and speed options in your theme.

Regarding further guidance on how do to this, our knowledge of custom themes and 3rd party software is fairly limited. It is recommended to contact your theme provider support team as they should investigate and resolve this matter”.

    @Luca
, please can this be investigated for the theme optimization and speed options?

    @Luca
Please also bear in mind as stated in the conversation, that I have already used free themes before purchasing this theme with the identical video, images excluding the large images and same data, and an almost identical layout, and I never experienced any speed and loading issues, and the video always loaded within 2 seconds and always at full width.

Hope this helps to resolve this issue.

    Thanks,
    Ajaz

    Hi @Ajaz,

If you don’t to use the 3rd party cache plugins, please go to XStore > More > Speed Optimization:

    Hi Luca,

I have applied the below options.

    Speed optimisation update:

I do not use a child theme so the code is not required?
Masonry scripts: not sure where this option?
FontAwesome support: I use a built-in font within Elemntor.
    Menu cache: turned on
    Static Blocks cache: turned on
Remove query strings from theme static resources: turned on
Disable emoji: I don’t use emojis

I have flushed the cache in WP, this speeds the site up but this only lasts for up to 10-15 minutes, and then the site is slow again, as it has been.

    Thanks.
