I used sftp to update my theme to the recent 3.1 version, but after having done so, my site won’t load. I’ve since reverted back to an older version of the theme. I enabled debugging to see what the problems were and these were the errors I got from the time of uploading the updated theme:

Hello,
Did you upload theme folder with overwriting?
Please try this way of theme update: export theme settings in Theme Options > Import/Export > Import or Export your theme configuration > Export Options, then activate default theme (Storefront), rename woopress folder via FTP and upload new theme archive in wp-admin > themes or theme folder via FTP (without overwriting), enter your purchase code to activate the theme and skip Setup Wizard, then import your theme options. Check your site, if all is well, you can delete the old theme. Likely, after the update, you need to re-add widgets (Appearance > Widgets).
Don’t forget to create backup of your files and database before starting update process!
Regards
I was never able to get the update to work. I followed these instructions, but I’m using a child theme, so when I went to activate the child theme, that’s when the site broke. If I disable the child theme, the site will display, but obviously all the CSS is totally messed up because none of the child theme styles are applied. How do I update the theme while still being able to use my child theme?
This appears to be the fatal error causing the problem: [18-Dec-2017 19:30:15 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function etheme_top_cart() in /dom14023/wp-content/themes/woopress-child/header.php on line 90
Nevermind. I fixed it.
Thank you for letting us know.
Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
Regards
