White Screen Theme Upload Problem - by george_dudding

When I try to upload my theme via FTP, it comes up as a new theme fine, but when i try to activate the screen goes white and doesn’t allow me back on to my dashboard until i’ve deleted the file via FTP.
Seemingly there is something within my file download that WordPress doesn’t agree with. However, i haven’t tampered with the original file.
Can anyone help?
