WPBakery Page Builder not updated – Why?

WPBakery Page Builder is a plugin installed by your template. However, this plugin never updates and is stuck at version 6.1.0 when the current version should be 6.10.0.
From the plugin site I read that I have to wait for the manufacturer of my template to also update the WPBakery Page Builder plugin: why hasn’t it been updated?
