I updated the x core plugin on a client’s website today and it caused a fatal error. I had my host shut off all other plugins to troubleshoot. Current PHP version is 8.1.12. WP and theme are also up to date. They still received the following errors as follows:
PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare unicode_chars() (previously declared in /home/sneakybr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/et-core-plugin/app/traits/base.php:93) in /home/sneakybr/public_html/wp-content/themes/xstore/framework/theme-functions.php on line 951
Unfortunately, with all other plugins deactivated et-core-plugin is still giving the PHP fatal error. I found another PHP warning now in the log for
Woocommerce :
PHP Warning: Undefined array key “MI” in /home/sneakybr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/class-wc-shipping-zone.php on line 130
I just implemented a temporary fix and reinstalled the previous version of X Core until you get the change to take a look in the backend. Thanks.
I have the same exact issue. Do you mind telling me where I can find and download the previous version of xstore core? (I can’t restore from backup because it’s on my staging site, which I just found out doesn’t backup!!!)
Hello, @Dominick,
I have checked your site and found your server requirements do not meet the theme’s requirements. First of all please downgrade your PHP version to 7.4.33. For this Please contact your service provider and ask them to fix server requirements to meet theme requirements. See the image for the theme requirement: https://ibb.co/K59FJhk
And then the theme should be updated first, then the Core plugin. Check our theme documentation Xstore Theme update here: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-installation/theme-update/

Hello, @Amy V,
You can download the old version of the core plugin from here: https://dropmefiles.com.ua/en/4SR8czQ

Yes, that fixed my issues. Thank you.
