I have installed Xstore over my WordPress/Woocommerce website a week ago and noticed that the page is loading too slow. At first I thought it was my internet connection, however, other sites are loading correctly, thus I deduced that it is my site that is performing poorly.
This afternoon, I had enough and decided to make a clean reinstall of WordPress. After installing Woocommerce and benchmarking the performance of the default theme, I can confirm that the loading speed is fine – so no, it should not be an issue with the host. After I installed Xstore once more however, the site’s loading speed began to degrade again. I decided to check the plugins and was able to track down the issue to WPBakery Visual Composer – when I deactivated this plugin, the site loaded normal, however, the designs of the theme won’t show. If I enable it again, the site becomes unbearably slow again. What must I do to fix this? I understand that this plugin is needed by the theme and thus, cannot be deactivated. We are launching our eCommerce site next week but we cannot present it to our customers at its present state as it is as slow as a snail!
P.S. Initially, we used the “Handmade” demo and would like to use it permanently. However upon fresh reinstall, that demo wasn’t among the list of which we can import from for some reason. How can we switch to the handmade demo again?
Thank you.
Hello,
Please, read this topic and follow the instruction to improve your site speed https://www.8theme.com/topic/slow-load-times/
If you need to install the Handmade demo but one click installation does not work for you (Theme Options > Import/Export > Dummy Content) then use manual import of .xml file. Follow the documentation https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-installation/demo-content/
XML files you can download here https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/
Regards
