Hi,
Firstly my web developer designed my website with the xstore child theme but today I got a message saying I must update to xstore ver 8.15 so I purchased this version. For the record I want to stick with the child theme because if I change to xstore it takes away my header on website and I’m not a developer so I can’t fix it. With all that being said both themes cause a conflict with woosubscription plugin. I purchased the woosubscriptions plugin plus the woosubscription all products plugin plus the self-service dashboard for woocommerce subscriptions plugin. So 3 plugins in total which work together. When I tested the plugin and go to ‘my account’ as if I were a customer the first issue is the ‘switch subscription’ button causes the customer to be charged again if they want to switch subscriptions instead of charging a zero amount. The second issue is on the self-service plugin, when you select the ‘switch item’ button nothing happens. I tested both items on a standard wordpress theme and they work on the standard wordpress theme but as soon as xstore is activated the problems are as described above. Please help, I really need to have xstore child them working with the woocommerce subscription plugins and I would want a refund for the xstore theme which I don’t need (or I can’t use since it takes away my header on website and possibly other items as well).
Hello,
Thank you for using our theme and take our apologies if you faced any inconvenience.
1) Could you, please, provide us with 1 video how the mentioned plugins work with the default theme and 2d video how it works with the XStore? We need to check that to understand the issue. You can use Recordit tool to create and share video.
2) Provide us with WP Dashboard and FTP access to your site to allow us to fix issue after watching your videos.
3) There is no need to switch to the parent theme just to update it. You can continue using the child theme and just follow the docs https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-installation/theme-update/
If your developer made customization correctly you should not face any issues or lose any changes after the parent theme update. Anyway, do the files and DB backup before any update.
Regards
Hi,
I’ve put in the private content area a login to the wp dashboard and ftp.
Below is two links for recordings, sorry they are long. Watch the one that is 6 minutes first, it shows you what happens when the plugin xstore 4.15 is activated and the second recording shows what happens basically when xstore 4.15 is deactivated. It’s this plugin that is causing the ‘switch to’ button to not do anything. The ‘switch subscription’ button doesn’t work on either 4.15 or 8.15. But basically I need to have version 4.15 because without that plugin my header disappears and it messes up menus etc on my website but 4.15 is causing problems with the woocommerce subscription plugin. Links below – just need to make sure volume is on. Probably best to download so you can navigate easier on recording

Hello,
Have you changed the WP Dashboard access? Because we can’t log in https://prnt.sc/GgKKCCffcpsK
Also, could you, please, order any subscription from that account to allow us to test the mentioned issue and find the reason of that?
Regards
Hi, I’ll just give you my login because otherwise I have to redo a test order etc. Please see my details in private area and then when you go into the ‘my account’ section and subscriptions you should be able to test it with subscription number 8052 (you’ll see it’s an active subscription)
Hello,
Keep Ajax Add to cart option disabled in the Single product settings https://prnt.sc/uj8Cym_fWTYT
Check subscription now, please.
Regards
Hi, thanks that worked for the ‘switch subscription’ button however the ‘switch item’ button still doesn’t work, it’s supposed to come up with the different variants but doesn’t with the child theme. This is for the customer to switch the variant without changing frequency.
Hello,
You are welcome.
Issue with the “Switch item” button appears even with the default theme and causes js errors in console https://prnt.sc/SyX8qbDvdrwo
So, contact plugin author to fix that.
Regards
Hi,
The switch item button should appear, I want it to appear and it works fine in the default wordpress them, when you click it then the variant menu shows which is correct but with the xstore 4.15 theme if you click on the switch item button nothing happens and it should bring up the variants.
Hello,
Sorry but I don’t see that it works with the default theme. Check the video https://recordit.co/goH0Y1zGgn
Please, contact self-service-dashboard-for-woocommerce-subscriptions plugin author to get help.
We can do nothing if that does not work even with the default WP theme.

Hi,
If you try on the test website test2.littlecatandbowwow.co.za/my-account and you login with the same login details you’ll see that the variants do come up when you select switch 2. This test2 website has either the 2020 or 2022 wordpress theme. I’m attaching link to the recording showing that the switch to button does come up with variants. It’s only when I go back to the xstore 4.15 that it does nothing.
Hello,
Do you use the variation swatches option anywhere on your site? Seems that it causes the issue with the products that appear out of the single product or shop page. If you don’t use swatches then go to Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop Elements > Variation swatches > disable it.
Then your subscription works ok.
Regards
Hi, I’m not using variation swatches at the moment but if I disable this could I install a variation swatches plugin at a later date to have this feature?
Can you also please let me know how to get to theme options, I don’t know how to get there, I’m not a developer so this is all new to me. I tried to go to theme, customize but couldn’t find theme options there.
Thanks
Hello,
If you don’t use them then just disable them. You can find theme options either from the top menu or from the side menu. You’ll be able to install the third-party variation swatches plugin in the future if you need it.
Hi,
Please explain how to find the theme options, I’m not sure what you mean when you say I can find it on either top menu or side menu. I’ve looked in the dashboard menu and I can’t find theme options. I need you to be very specific as I’m not familiar with 8theme at all and I’m also new to wordpress.
Thanks
