Hi support,
In general the XStore theme is really great, it looks nice and it’s easy to set up and edit. I’m having 1 very important issue with the theme though, and that’s the fact that it’s really slow. The slowness occurs in waiting for the server response / Time to first Byte (TTFB). The TTFB from my website varies from 3s to 8s, which is insanely slow. It’s just too annoying for visitors to go through the website, and it will make them leave the website.
Initially I though this meant it was my hosting that was slow, but when I disabled the plugins and switched to the default WordPress theme my TTFB dropped down to 700ms! That’s the kind of response time that I’m looking for, because people will leave your website if it loads for more than 3 seconds:

I followed you guide here:
https://www.8theme.com/topic/slow-load-times/
– Disabled non-necessary plugins
– Installed W3 cache and went through the settings
– Used Smush plugin to compress images
But still after these steps my first response time is at 3-8 seconds. Could you please assist me figuring this out? I purchased an additional 6 months of support for this question, because I like the theme so much that I want to keep using it. However, with the current speed I can’t, visitors will just leave my site before it even loads.
I’ve added the access credentials in the private content area.
Thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Koen
Hello,
We have checked your site and see that even with the default theme site speed is not very good even if the page size is minimum http://prntscr.com/npgb3i It means the problem is not related to our theme, sorry. Anyway, XStore theme is fully optimized and w don’t have any extra optimization service.
So, we would recommend you to submit optimization request to specialists, for example, WPKraken team to get help with site optimization.

In the end I was able to find a solution for my issue.
For me the solution was to install the plugin “WP Super Cache” and enable both “expert caching” under the advanced tab and “preload caching”
I think preload caching was the most important change for me. This will create static pages for your shop and serve those to your visitors instead of generating the pages from dynamic wordpress pages.
I followed these 2 youtube videos and applied their suggestions:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Syx8QVN2eGc (WP Super Cache Beginners Install and Setup Tutorial)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e6ntqXBQFQ (WP Super Cache: Preload and Plugins)
Hopefully this will help other users with the same problem as well.
Hello,
Thanks that you shared solution that was helpful for you.
